Crock Pot Cream Cheese Chicken

3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
1 (2/3 oz) package Italian salad dressing mix
4 tablespoons melted butter (divided)
1 small onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 (10½ oz) can cream of chicken soup
8 oz cream cheese
½ cup chicken broth
¼ cup white wine
If desired, brown chicken breasts in skillet before adding to crock pot. Place chicken (and pan drippings) in crock pot and sprinkle Italian seasoning over chicken. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons melted butter.
Cook on low for 2 - 3 hours (longer, if your crock pot runs cool)
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a sauce pan and saute onion and garlic. Add cream of chicken soup, cream cheese, chicken broth, and wine. Stir until smooth.
Add this mixture to crock pot and cook on low for an additional 30 min/hour.
